There is, as a matter of fact, no standardization of tooltips format or rendering!
Here are 6 different types of tooltips in Windows 11
Outlook
Outlook Web Client has fewer features than the Classic #Outlook
- No quick access toolbar
- Opening .ics files doesn't pop up the calendar import in Outlook. You have to open the Calendar tab in Outlook to see the import wizard
- Can't remove Copilot
- Can't minimize to tray
- No standardized toolbar
Microsoft Office
New, Open, Save - three completely different tooltips!
Share
The 4 ways to share a file in 4 separate context-menu options.
- Share with Skype
- Give access to
- Share
- Send to > Mail recipient
Maybe the next @Windows update can consolidate it into a single place?
Calendar
4 ways of highlighting dates in the Windows calendar
URLs
Three different URLs for the same click..
Charmap
We really should have had a new Charmap app for #Windows11 by now, it's long overdue!
Drivers
Amazing! Intel SPI is running drivers from 1968 and Microsoft is signing them for Windows11
Taskmanager
This insane CPU time!
Windows 3.1 in Windows 11
And there you have it! 33 years after its initial release, a #Windows 3.1 era dialog box still exists in #Window11
Still has this old HTML Help control as part of ODBC data sources
I'm so happy to see that we have moricons.dll still present in #Windows11 after all these years! Complete with its original icons and all and the original dialog box to select icons.
