Public and Private ip

IP Address: An IP (Internet Protocol) address is a numerical label assigned to the devices connected to a computer network that uses the IP for communication.

IP address act as an identifier for a specific machine on a particular network. It also helps you to develop a virtual connection between a destination and a source. The IP address is also called IP number or internet address. It helps you to specify the technical format of the addressing and packets scheme. Most networks combine TCP with IP.
IP Address is divided into two parts:

-> Prefix: The prefix part of IP address identifies the physical network to which the computer is attached. . Prefix is also known as a network address.
-> Suffix: The suffix part identifies the individual computer on the network. The suffix is also called the host address.

Private IP: the scope of private is is used to communicate within the network. private IP address of the systems connected in a network differ in a uniform manner. it works only on LAN. it is used to load the network operating system. it is available free of cost. private IP can be known by entering ipconfig on the command prompt. Private IP uses numeric code that is not unique and can be used again. private IP addresses are secure. private IP addresses require NAT to communication with devices.

public IP: the scope of public IP is global. It is used to communicate outside the network. public IP may differ in uniform or non uniform manner. it is used to ger internet service. It is controlled by ISP. It is not free of cost. Public IP can be k own by searching "what is my IO" on google. besides private IP addresses the rest are public. public IP uses a numeric code that is unique and cannot be used by other. Public IP address has no security and is subjected to attack. Public IP does not require a network translation.
